Two-time Juno-Award winning banjoist Jayme Stone makes music inspired by folk traditions from around the world. Stone thrives on unexpected inspiration -- Japanese poetry, Brazilian literature, found instruments -- and defies, yet honors the banjo’s long role in world music, turning historical connections into compelling music. Stone’s latest album, Room of Wonders, explores music inspired by culturally rich folk dances like reels, ruchenitsas, morescas, and sambas, and was recently awarded the Canadian Folk Music Award for Instrumental Artist of the Year.
