Guest Presentation

Friday, January 18, 8 PM

Presented by M.E. Productions

An Acoustic Evening with
James Montgomery, Charlie Farren, Jon Butcher,
& David Hull

Details:

While growing up in Detroit, Montgomery learned first-hand from the masters--James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells--at the legendary "Chessmate." He continues to be a vital presence in Blues as one of its most dynamic performers.

Alone onstage with acoustic guitar in hand, Farren captures an audience with his unique delivery, insightful lyrics, memorable songs, soaring vocals, and subtle yet innovative guitar style. It wasn't always quite so subtle, as Charlie formed this original self-taught style with a history of successful rock bands through the 80s, including The Joe Perry Project and Farrenheit.

Grammy-nominated Jon Butcher is one of a select handful of influential recording artists comprising the legendary Boston music scene. MTV videos and hit songs--"Life Takes A Life," "Wishes," "Holy War," "Goodbye Saving Grace," "Miracles," "Send Me Somebody"--comprise the underpinnings of a recording/touring career that continues today. Three critically acclaimed CD's, Positively The Blues, Barefoot Servants, and Electric Factory mark Jon's enduring love affair with all things Americana--blues, jazz, Dixieland, folk, swing, Cajun, and more.

David Hull is one of the premier bassists in the country. He started with the Buddy Miles Band, which led to recording and touring with Joe Cocker, Ted Nugent, and Arthur Lee & Love. He set out on his own in the 70s as founding member of the rock band Dirty Angels, was tapped in 1979 for The Joe Perry Project, and co-founded Farrenheit with Charlie. Perhaps his most high-profile role has been as replacement for Tom Hamilton on the Aerosmith tour in 2006, and again in 2009. Now as a soloist, David's versatility is evident, losing preconceptions and leaving the comfort zone to dig into his blues roots and branch out in new soulful directions.
