A junior at Roxbury Latin School in West Roxbury, MA Lev Mamuya studies cello with Michael Reynolds and composition with Howard Frazin. Previous teachers include Debbie Thompson, Laura Blustein, and Paul Katz. Lev is an alumnus of the PBS radio show “From the Top,” and was second place winner in the Sphinx competition in 2012. In the summer of 2012 he performed with the Boston Pops. An experienced soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, Lev is especially passionate about the quartets of Bartok and Beethoven. As a composer he has had commissions from Winsor Music, and, in addition to the Shalin Liu Performance Center, his compositions have been performed at the New England Conservatory and the Rivers School. Lev is supported by Project STEP, a highly selective string training program for students of color.

Christopher Staknys is an aspiring young performer and composer. He is a senior at Falmouth (ME) High School and a student in the Preparatory Department of the New England Conservatory, where he studies piano with Roberto Poli and composition with Howard Frazin. He attended Walnut Hill School for two years, and participated in festivals at Tanglewood, Summit, Killington, Greenwood, and Bay Chamber. He has won numerous competitions, including NEC Prep Concerto, MNEA Composers, Steinway Piano, and Music Without Limits in Lithuania. In 2011 his composition Congo was premiered by the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
